Parallel keys from norelem
Parallel keys are standard parts in machine construction that ensure the exact positioning of components. They serve as a connecting element between a shaft and a component, forming a positive connection. They ensure that components are seated firmly on a shaft and prevent them from slipping. They also ensure the transmission of force and torque from shaft to hub and are therefore an important component in machine construction.
Our parallel key range
The parallel key range from norelem includes 2 different models: .
- DIN 6885 A parallel keys
- Ceramic parallel keys similar to DIN 6885 A
DIN 6885 parallel keys
DIN 6885 standard parallel keys are standard connecting elements that are used for positive force and torque transmission between a shaft and hub. The standard dimensions, Forms (A, B, C) and tolerances ensure these standard parts benefit from high levels of compatibility. This prevents the purchase of an incorrect parallel key that does not fit. Therefore, a DIN 6885 parallel key guarantees a durable, precise and secure connection.
DIN 6885 A parallel keys
The DIN 6885 A parallel key is available in both 1.1192 steel and 1.4571 stainless steel. The material steel 1.1192 is a QT steel with good machining properties and is the material mainly used for parallel keys. It is suitable for parts subject to high mechanical loads, but not for components at risk of corrosion.
The parallel key DIN 6885 A made of stainless steel 1.4571 is a corrosion-resistant component and can therefore be used in many different areas. Stainless steel parallel keys can be used in the following industries:
- Foodstuff industries
- Medical and pharmaceutical industries
- Chemical industry
- Construction industry
- Shipbuilding industry
- Petroleum industry
- Pipeline construction
| The parallel keys of both materials are manufactured according to the DIN standard 6885 and have a bright, uncoated surface. |
Ceramic parallel keys similar to DIN 6885 A
In addition to steel parallel keys, the norelem range also includes ceramic parallel keys. The ceramic parallel keys similar to DIN 6885 A are available from norelem in a ground version made from the high-performance ceramic Z141 .
The use of parallel keys made of high-performance ceramics is particularly suitable for the chemical, food and pharmaceutical industries, as special properties such as resistance to acids and alkalis as well as abrasive substances are essential for safe and efficient work.
Another advantage of parallel keys made of high-performance ceramics is their high wear resistance. This and other advantages can make a significant contribution to improving process reliability and process quality. To summarise, you can benefit from the following properties of this material:
- Corrosion resistance
- Chemical resistance
- High-temperature resistance
- Wear resistance
- High dimensional stability
- No thermal conductivity
- Low electrical conductivity
Dowel pins from norelem
The dowel pin range from norelem comprises 5 different dowel pins.
- DIN 6325 dowel pins
- Ceramic dowel pins similar to DIN 6325
- DIN EN ISO 8735 dowel pins with internal thread
- Ceramic dowel pins with internal thread similar to DIN EN ISO 8735
- ISO 2338 dowel pins
° °
A dowel pin is a cylindrically shaped standard part that is used to connect, position and fixate components. Due to the high load capacity and the simple and precise geometry of the dowel pin, it is used in various designs. Dowel pins are mainly used in machine and fixture construction to create precise and secure connections.
Dowel pins: types and versions
The norelem range includes various types and versions of dowel pins. In addition to dowel pins with an internal thread, the norelem product range also includes other DIN and ISO standard dowel pins without a tapped hole.
The ceramic dowel pins similar to DIN 6325 come in a ground version and are made from the high-performance ceramic Z101. This means that they are not only suitable for dimensionally stable use at high temperatures, but are also electrically insulating and are therefore ideal for fixture construction.
The DIN 6325 dowel pins come in a hardened version with a hardness of 60 ±2 HRC and are made from tool steel.
The ISO 2338 dowel pins are available in various materials and can be made from steel, stainless steel or A4 stainless steel and with a bright finish.
Dowel pins with internal thread
A dowel pin with an internal thread is mainly used in blind holes - i.e. in holes that do not penetrate the workpiece completely, but only reach a certain depth in the workpiece. An extractor can be attached to the dowel pin via this internal thread. This means that the dowel pin can be removed again without damaging the workpiece by knocking it out.
Norelem has 2 different dowel pins with internal thread in its range.
The DIN EN ISO 8735 dowel pin with internal thread is available in tool steel 1.2067 and is characterised by the following properties:
- Surface hardened,
- hardness 60 ±2 HRC,
- annealed,
- ground and lapped
Tool steel dowel pins with internal threads are suitable for precise and wear-intensive connections in machine construction.
| Ceramic dowel pins are suitable for high-precision guidance or in medical technology. Its chemical resistance and corrosion resistance enable ceramic dowel pins with internal thread similar to DIN EN ISO 8735 to also be used where extreme wear resistance and high dimensional precision are required. The dowel pin comes in a ground version and is made from the high-performance ceramic Z101. As a result, it also remains electrically insulating and dimensionally stable at high temperatures. |
Extractors from norelem
An extractor is used to remove locating pins and other pins (such as dowel pins) that have an internal thread. This ensures that a dowel pin can be removed without hammering it out, or similar and so possibly damaging the workpiece. An extractor can be used for pins and locating pins with an internal thread of M3 to M8.
The extractors slide hammer is made from QT steel and is both tempered and chromed. The shank, stop and guide sleeve are chromed and hardened and are made from tool steel.
